Chef Ishvara Dhyan specialises in city culinary walks with a focus on diverse cultures. His tours include a spice walk in Fordsburg, exploring Asian culture in Cyrildene’s Chinatown, Ethiopian Culture in the city centre and a walkabout of African traditional culture.There is an emphasis on food as culture and he also offers a range of cooking classes focusing on Asian and Middle Eastern cuisines. He'll also impart secrets about where to source exotic ingredients locally.
Walking tours start from R100 and up to 50 people can attend. The programme varies monthly. Private tours of up to 4 hours in length are offered for a fixed price of R2250 regardless of the number of attendees.
Ishvara also runs cookery courses under the Ancient Secrets brand.
