Located in a converted industrial building built in the 1940s, August House is the largest live-in artists’ studio space in Joburg’s City Centre. It's a springboard for emerging artists supported by a spirited, cross-disciplinary community and intentional programming by visual arts organisation META Foundation. You can read more about the story behind this inspiring space here.
On Sun, Oct 27 August House opens its doors to the public for a day of connection and creativity. You'll be able to visit more than 40 resident artists in their studios, see two group exhibitions, and get involved with activities throughout the day. One of our favourite creative spaces in the city, August House is wonderfully diverse; the resident artists span age, nationality, and levels of experience, and work across a wide range of mediums.
The dedicated kids' area makes this open day a fun outing for you and your brood. There'll be food and drinks available to purchase, plus a free shuttle service from underground parking at Access City.
