Joburg's newest art gallery and studio space The hART in Troyeville presents its debut group exhibition,  Behind the margins of the city. The first sub-theme of City Series. The first series of exhibitions at the new gallery are all themed around the city experience, and unpack different narratives and perspectives on life in Joburg.

Featured artists at the debut exhibition include Shayna Rosendorff, Banele Mhlanga (@nizi.jpeg), Thabo Modillane, Patrick Rapai and Sizani Baloyi.

The hART Gallery occupies the magnificent Art Nouveau mansion at 19 Albermarle Street in historic Troyeville. The elegant home with its distinctive turret and pretty stained glass windows was built in 1905 by architect Eugene Chappius Metzler and was sensitively restored by architect Michael Hart in 1992. Now home to The hART the space is functions as an art gallery, events space and an artist residence.

The exhibition opens on Fri Feb 25 from 18:00–19:00 and on Sat Feb 26 from 10:00–12:00 there is a guided walkabout of the exhibition and the new gallery space.
