Book iBhoni (iBhoni is local slang for bicycle), based on Soweto's famed Vilakazi Street, runs a combined walking and cycling tour experience through Soweto, with a 10% discount offered to cyclists who donate a book. The books are then collected and donated to community libraries. According to Soweto-born entrepreneur and Book iBhoni founder Mpumelelo Mtintso, some 700 books have already been donated so far.

Book iBhoni's whirlwind, interactive tours operate every day of the week (with the exception of some public holidays), and are a two to four-hour showcase of the very best of Soweto. Tours vary, but usually include stops at prominent heritage sites such as the Nelson Mandela House Museum, Hector Pietersen Museum, Desmond Tutu's house on Vilakazi Street and the late Winnie Madikizela-Mandela's house. Other stops en route include the Nomzamo Kids Centre, local curios shops and Soweto's Soweto Gold brewery. The ride ends with a short hike up to Mpumelelo's favourite viewing spot in the neighbourhood, followed by a traditional South African braai.

Tours taking place from Thursday to Sunday also include a stop at the iconic Orlando Towers, where you disembark your bike for a thrilling and totally unique rock wall climbing activity.
