Writer, columnist and academic Sisonke Msimang presents her memoir Always Another Country. Msimang grew up in exile in Zambia and Kenya and spent her young adult years as a student in the USA before finally returning to South Africa in the euphoric and turbulent 1990s. She has since established herself as a leading voice in 21st Century South Africa, commenting on the country's politics and socio-political troubles in a manner that is often humorous and moving. In Always Another Country, Misimang reflects on her bitter-sweet coming-of-age and the discontent and disappointment that she has felt about the state of South Africa more than twenty years after democracy. She also details her personal experiences of motherhood, family and romance.

The book launch takes place at the Maboneng branch of Bridge Books from 18:00. Msimang will be discussing the book with Radio 702 presenter Eusebius Mckaiser.
