Subtitled ‘Taking Stock of the Book Arts in South Africa’ this series of events focuses on artists’ books and includes two exhibitions, a Colloquium and associated workshops and walkabouts. Held at two venues on the campus of University of Johannesburg, the UJ Art Gallery and FADA Gallery, Booknesses, curated by David Paton, will showcase a selection of artists’ books owned by respected collector and philanthropist Jack Ginsberg as well as a diverse range of recent book arts and book-objects from South African artists, designers and students. The works run the range from traditional to experimental and also encompass digital responses to the book as an artwork.<br /> <br /> <strong>On the programme:</strong><br /> <a href=""><strong>Booknesses: Artists’ Books from the Jack Ginsberg Collection</strong></a> at UJ Art Gallery, University of Johannesburg, Kingsway Campus.
