For Conrad Botes' newest exhibition at Kalshnikovv Gallery he returns to his roots with a body of work focusing on drawing and etching specifically.

Known as one of the members of the duo Bitterkomix Botes' work is bitingly satirical and over the years he has built up a significant portfolio of work. For the last decade he has primarily focused on painting but with this exhibition he pays tribute to what he calls 'the underdog of the printmaking world' etching.

The exhibition will include work stretching back to 1993, including some lost etchings, and then a number of new works created specifically for this show. There will also be a number of new bronze and wood sculptures in which Botes explores the line between sculpture and drawing.

While there is no set theme for this exhibition, many of the pieces allude to allegories and their narratives with Botes using this to make viewers question their beliefs and realities. It promises to be an engaging and thought-provoking exhibition as Botes is a master at using art to make us question the world around us.
