Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s iconic stage musical <em>Evita </em>comes to South Africa this spring. The award-winning West End musical tells the rags-to-riches tale of the First Lady of Argentina, Eva Duarte Perón, and features some of the most memorable numbers in stage musical history such as the classic <em>Don't Cry For Me Argentina</em>. Raised as an illegitimate child, the young Eva leaves her rural upbringing behind and heads to the city. As an ambitious young actress, a fortunate meeting with the equally ambitious Juan Perón sets her firmly on the path towards becoming the most powerful woman in Latin America.<br /> <br /> This production of the musical sees top South African stage star Jonathan Roxmouth (Grease, Phantom of the Opera, Sweeney Todd) playing the role of Che and Emma Kingston (Les Misérables) in the role of Evita.
