Internationally renowned South African artist William Kentridge opens his private garden to the public this weekend as part of the Gardens of the Golden City open gardens event. With only 120 visitors allowed (30 people per visit), booking is absolutely essential.<br /> <br /> The tour of Kentridge's garden, which surrounds the home that he grew up in, is led by landscaper Jane Henderson who designed the garden alongside Kentridge. As well as beautiful flora the garden also boasts sculptural works by Kentridge, including the original maquette for his ten metre public artwork Fire Walker, which was created for the World Cup 2010 and stands at the entrance to Nelson Mandela Bridge in Newtown.<br /> <br /> There are tours of the gardens at 10:00 and 14:00. Booking is essential. Contact <a href="mailto:info@gardensofthegoldencity.co.za">info@gardensofthegoldencity.co.za</a> to book. The meeting point for the tour will be mailed to you after proof of payment has been received.
