Gauteng Opera presents Giacomo Puccini’s classic <em>La Boheme</em>. The story centres around four young bohemians living in Paris's Latin Quater in the 1840s. The Victorian era is brought to life on the stage with quirky 21st century touches. A timeless tale of young love both unrequited and doomed, <em>La Boheme</em> is one of Puccini's most-loved romantic operas.<br />

Playing the role of the philosopher Colline is Gauteng Opera graduate Vuyani Miinde, who has sung bass baritone for London's Royal Opera House and the Frankfurt Oper among other leading opera houses. Playing opposite him in the role of Mimi is Khayakazi Madlala, a second year student at the Gauteng Opera school and a star to watch. A proudly South African production the all-South African cast of singers are joined on stage by the Gauteng Opera Orchestra.
