If you are a follower of social media you might think Iris Garden Patisserie is the biggest thing to hit Rosebank in recent months (late-2022) with just about every blogger and wanna be Insta-queen featuring it for it's attractive decor and and smooth, buttery, and creamy crepe cakes in a variety of flavours. On a busy day, you might even find a line outside the entrance.
Once inside you'll see why – you can't help but be charmed by this place with its restful neutral decor palette, lush green plants, and comfortable chairs. Take a walk upstairs and have a seat at the cloud-shaped tables. While WiFi wasn't in place when we visited there are plug points for you to charge up if you feel like doing some work.
The killer attraction though is Iris Garden Patisserie's crepe cakes. Think light layers of crepe with a range of delicious fillings that include Pistachio, Coconut Pineapple, Rose Litchi and Strawberry. We can vouch that they taste as good as they look, and it's hard to choose between flavours (round up a posse so you get to taste more than one).
Iris Garden Patisserie first opened in Rivonia and this is a second branch. All of the cakes here are Halaal, and there are also great vegan options.
There's a good selection of teas and coffee to accompany your sweet choices – Iris Garden is known for its latte art, which also might account for its social media popularity. We watched the barista make a beautiful blue latte cup with a peacock design. The bubble tea here is also recommended – sweet and milky.
In all Iris Garden Patisserie is a fun addition to Rosebank's busy coffee scene.
