Award-winning Swedish jazz pianist and composer Jan Lundgren kicks off his first ever tour of South Africa with a performance at Joburg's favourite jazz club The Orbit.<br /> <br /> A leading figure in the European jazz scene, Lundgren's breakthrough 1997 album <em>Swedish Standards</em> won him the prestigious Orkesterjournalen Golden Record prize and since then he has released several other critically acclaimed records, including his most recent album <em>Potsdamer Platz</em>. In addition to composing and performing Lundgren is also a founder and artistic director of the annual Ystad Sweden Jazz Festival, one of Europe’s biggest jazz festivals.<br /> <br /> Lundgren is joined at this concert by bassist Romy Brauteseth and drummer Peter Auret.
