Returning to the stage for the first time in eight years, Joburg Ballet presents the classic romantic story of the ill-fated princess and her magical slumber in a new production conceptualised by former British ballerina Maina Gielgud, with Tchaikovsky’s sweeping score performed live by the Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra.

French dancers Anaïs Chalendard and Florimond Lorieux will make their South African debuts dancing the leading roles in three performances – on Opening Night (Fri Mar 29) and in the matinee performances on Sun Mar 31 and Tue Apr 2. The remaining seven performances will star Joburg Ballet's own principal dancers.
