Joburg Heritage Walking Tour – Northcliff Ridge

Saturday Feb 4 09:00
share
Join Johannesburg Heritage Foundation for a guided walking tour of the Northcliff Ridge, one of the most prominent outcrops along Joburg's northern ridges, instantly recognisable with its distinctive water tower on the top.

This trek up the Northcliff Ridge includes a talk on the contemporary homes dotted along the cliffs, including houses by renowned architects Wilhelm Pabst, Louis Louw, Ian Gandini and M.J. Harris. The tour ends at the top of the ridge, with spectacular views of Joburg.

Please note this is a long, strenuous walk with hills to climb and uneven surfaces, but its well worth it! Remember to wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a hat, sunscreen and water to stay hydrated.

We are great fans of the Joburg Heritage Foundation who do critical work in conserving Joburg's heritage, and highly recommend that if you are in Joburg for an extended time, you sign up for a membership. See their website for details.

Tour starts at 09:00. The meeting point is Olivia’s Coffeebake, 175 Beyers Naude Drive, Northcliff.
