The programme for JPO's Winter Symphony Season:
Opening concert: Beethoven, Dvořák and Brahms (Jun 4)
The season opens on Thu, Jun 4 under the baton of conductor Daniel Boico, beginning with Beethoven’s stirring Egmont Overture. On violin, Elvin Hoxha Ganiyev takes centre stage for Dvořák’s lyrical Violin Concerto in A minor, before the evening closes with Brahms’ lush Symphony No. 3.Concert two: Schumann and Schubert classics (Jun 11)
Brazilian conductor Alexandra Arrieche leads a programme centred around German Romantic masterpieces. Acclaimed pianist Federico Colli performs Schumann’s Piano Concerto in A minor, framed by the dramatic Manfred Overture and Schubert’s hauntingly beautiful and famously incomplete Unfinished Symphony.Concert three: bayan world premiere (Jun 18)
One of the season’s standouts is the world premiere of Airat Ichmouratov’s Concerto for Bayan, performed by bayan virtuoso Stas Venglevski. Daniel Boico returns to conduct the evening, which also includes Brahms’ jubilant Academic Festival Overture and Tchaikovsky’s emotionally charged Symphony No. 4.Final concert: Mendelssohn and Saint-Saëns (Jun 25)
The final concert sees Alexandra Arrieche return to the podium alongside pianist Rebeca Omordia for Saint-Saëns’ Piano Concerto No. 2. The programme also features Kodály’s vibrant Dances of Galánta and Mendelssohn’s atmospheric “Scottish” Symphony, ending the Winter Season on an optimistic note.JPO Winter Season 2026 info
