Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra Winter Season 2022

The Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra brings back its popular World Symphony Series to the Linder Auditorium again this winter, presenting an exciting programme that sees the orchestra collaborating with leading local and international guest conductors and soloists. The Winter 2022 series promises another superbly curated selection of beloved symphonies and concertos by composers such as Mozart, Beethoven, Rachmaninoff and Tchaikovsky. 

June 23 
Conducted by Bernhard Gueller, the principal guest conductor of the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra, this concert features a performance by the 19-year-old pianist Leo Gevisser, an exceptional South African-born prodigy who is currently studying at Juilliard School in New York.
Programme: Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 4, Dvorák’s Symphony No. 6.

June 30 
Also conducted by Bernhard Gueller, the programme includes a performance by South Africa-based virtuoso pianist Bryan Wallick.
Programme: Prokofiev’s Concerto for Piano No. 3, Brahms’ Symphony No. 3.
