This year Johannesburg annual LGBTQI pride event splashes out in Sandton with the colourful pride parade strutting its stuff and taking over the streets of Sandton Central.
Joburg's annual Pride Parade is the largest such event on the African continent and has grown substantially in recent years, with thousands joining in the Mardi Gras-like parade through the streets. The 2022 Pride Village will be set up on Rivonia Road, between Sandton Drive and West Street, with DJs and live performances throughout the day, while the march sets off for a loop through Sandton Central from 14:00. The starting point for the parade is outside Sandton City on Rivonia Road. Gates open at 10:00.
