Timed to coincide with the late Nelson Mandela's 99th birthday, this exhibition looks back at some of the most iconic Madiba moments that have been caught on camera by South Africa's foremost photojournalists. Photographers featured in the exhibition include names like Jodi Bieber, Paul Weinberg, Leon Sadiki and Greg Marinovich and the images include snapshots of Mandela at both work and play; addressing crowds at political rallies, greeting children, casting his vote in the first democratic election, meeting global celebrities like Michael Jackson and doing his famous 'Madiba shuffle'.

Among the most memorable images are a series taken by Life magazine photographer Jurgen Schadeberg in 1952 of a young Mandela at the law practice that he shared with Oliver Tambo in downtown Joburg. These shots are juxtaposed with the photos that Schadeberg took of Mandela when he visited his old cell on Robben Island in 1994 following the end of apartheid, widely acclaimed as being among the most iconic photos of the 20th Century.

Adding extra depth and insight to the exhibition, every photograph is accompanied by a note from the photographer explaining how and where the image was captured.
