Mbongeni Buthelezi's new exhibition <em>Sugar Tax</em> is another fantastic showcase of the artist's unique artworks, which make use of melted waste plastic to produce richly layered portraits. In his new series Buthelezi takes the ubiquitous branding of soft drinks as a theme. By subtly placing these globally recognisable logos into his images, Buthelezi reminds us of how throughout our daily lives we are constantly shadowed by brands who offer up unhealthy and environmentally harmful goods which we seemingly can no longer live without.
