Johannesburg Heritage Foundation are the champions of Joburg's neglected and forgotten spaces, working to uplift and rehabilitate the city's many special historical landmarks. Their latest project is reclaiming the Orange Grove waterfall. Not enough people know about the existence of this unusual waterfall that flows down for four metres over attractive stonework and into a large pool, and the foundation has taken on the work of cleaning this natural wonder up.

On Sun Jan 23 join the foundation at House Bleloch in Houghton (previously the Police Reservists College) for an open day and waterfall clean-up. The open day includes a walk to the waterfall followed by a community clean-up, so come prepared with cleaning gear including comfortable shoes, suitable clothing, and gardening gloves.

The open day is free although booking is essential to manager numbers. The meet-up point is House Bleloch (Old Police Reservists College) at 107 Houghton Drive. Book online here.
