Damning indictment

Until Sat, Nov 26 – Layziehound and Siphamandla Ex's Diaries of Injustice at Studio Nxumalo is a scathing critique of the South African justice system, and is a riveting must-see.

Shelf show

Until Jan 2023 – Exquisitely designed shelves and new work by South African artists make up The Shelf Show at the gallery.

Art and nature

Until Sep 2023 – Experience a global botanical garden exhibition in augmented reality at Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens with Seeing the Invisible.

Prepare your bids

Open to the public until Thu, Nov 3Strauss & Co's summer auction kicks off in November and is open for public viewing until Thu, Nov 3. It's a great opportunity to see works fit for a museum, and it is one of the most comprehensive snapshots of the history of South African Art.

Open studio and walkabout

Sat, Oct 29 at 12:00  – Join the artists for a walkabout of Creative Research at the Jack Ginsberg Centre for Book Arts.
Sun, Oct 30 from 10:30–16:00 – Meet the artists, enjoy delicious food and learn to screen print at August House Open Studios.

Until Feb 2023 – The Johannesburg Contemporary Art Foundation brings together the works of Frida Kahlo, Amrita Sher-Gil and Irma Stern for the first time in South Africa, in Modernist Identities. A must-see, this groundbreaking exhibition has limited space so book now!
