Escape into the countryside for a farm-inspired four-course lunch with the inaugural Owlswood Long Table Experience. Set at the foothills of the Magaliesburg outside the town of Mooinooi, this is the perfect setting for a long table lunch – the type of bespoke outdoor food experience that's become hugely popular.

Owlswood farm is a beautifully restored farmhouse on 275 hectares of land crisscrossed with hiking, walking, and biking trails. The wide open spaces make for leisurely picnic spots and the forests provide a beautiful backdrop for a lazy afternoon lunch.

At the helm in the kitchen will be cookbook author Patricia Van der Nest, and York Tonkin who has five years' experience working on super yachts. The pair will prepare a menu that is inspired by the farm and cooked mostly over an open fire, from lamb on the spit and flatbreads to fresh, wholesome sides and a smoky pineapple dessert.

Each dish will be paried with a South African wine, the perfect accompaniment to a four-course lunch served with live music in the countryside.

Winemakers from the respective wine estates will be availalbe for a chat for those who take their varietals seriously.

Tickets cost R2,500 pp and include transport from and back to Rosebank. The table is limitedt to 100 guests, and the first 50 guests to book will receive a surprise gift.
