Artist and practising architect Peter Cohen brings an exhibition of new drawings and lithographic works on paper to David Krut’s Blue House.
In City of remembered futures, landscapes and the built environment serve as vital points of entry. The body of work is quiet – devoid of the human presence – and focuses on the free-spirited nature of mark-making as a way to explore the disconnect between notions of utopian and dystopian cities, as well as the tension and harmony between natural landscapes and their concrete counterparts. The unique layering of urban and natural landscapes is what animates much of Cohen's work, and what invites viewers to immerse themselves in the City of remembered futures.
City of remembered futures opens on Thursday, Aug 3 from 16:00 – 18:00 at The Blue House, 151 Jan Smuts Avenue, Parkwood, Johannesburg.
