Having recently opened a second location in Johannesburg, following its first in Melrose Arch, this London-born eatery is known for serving fresh and delicious food on the go. Inside, the atmosphere is friendly, fast, and fresh, with baristas joking around with customers and already knowing several people’s orders by heart.

Front-of-house pro, Lash Disu, says that a core part of Pret is building a community. According to their website, their South African menu blends global flavours with local favourites. We love The Super Club, a flavourful chicken, beef and pastrami sandwich hailing from the UK, with the proudly local Braaibroodjie, a cheddar, Pret pickle, tomato and red onion sandwich, not far behind.

Baristas agree that if you’re visiting Pret for the first time, their Spanish Latte, a velvety espresso blend with milk and condensed milk, is a must-try.
