This year the Joburg Open and the SA Open are merging with the newly revamped SA Open championship also moving from Glendower Golf Club to a new Joburg venue, the Randpark Golf Club. The golf tournament takes place across the highly rated golf club's two world class courses;  Firethorn and Bushwillow, which border the elegant Fairway Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort, one of the top boutique hotel and golf resorts in the region.

In its new format for the first time ever the SA Open becomes a tri-sanctioned event between the Sunshine Tour, European Tour and Asian tour with a new record prize for the winning golfer of R17.5 million.
