One of Joburg's most famous artists, Sam Nhlengethwa, gets his first retrospective exhibition at Wits Art Museum this month with a focus on his rich body of print and lithographic works. The exhibition explores Nhlengethwa's ongoing artistic journey from 1978 to the present day with a particular focus on his ever-present interest in jazz and jazz culture. Full of colour and verve Nhlengethwa's distinctive images capture the energy and lasting impact of the pivotal cultural movements that have poured out of South Africa's musical community over the decades.
