Shade is an art project space that was founded in July 2019 and is housed in a 100-year-old building in the historic suburb of Brixton. Tamzyn Botha, a visual artist, manages and funds the project space with the help of hybrid community-based arts activations. Since launching, the space has hosted multiple exhibitions and workshops with a focus on uplifting artists and makers from the surrounding communities. Various community engagements and activations have also been curated and explored through the space, with among Shade's most prominent projects being the Brixton Light Festival.
