Throughout October Goodman Gallery presents a major group exhibition, Silence calling from one continent to another. The title of the exhibition refers to a drawing by William Kentridge from his processional opera The Head & the Load. The paradoxical line speaks to the frequent sense of ''mutual incomprehension'' between Africa and Europe, particularly when it comes to modes of communication and the difficulties presented by cultural differences, distance and geography. 

The exhibition features 12 artists "whose works contain or consider corporeal forms in both direct and poetic manners". Featured artists include Clive van den Berg, Nolan Oswald Dennis, Nicholas Hlobo, William Kentridge, Kapwani Kiwanga, Mikhael Subotzky, Pamela Phatsimo Sunstrum and Jeremy Wafer.
