Renowned musical theatre performer Jonathan Roxmouth returns to the Teatro at Montecasino with the highly acclaimed 19-piece Johannesburg Big Band conducted by Adam Howard, to present a spectacular series of popular Christmas hits.
"[Swingle Bells is] a throwback to the golden age of Christmas Swing Music when Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby and Bobby Darin were the custodians of "yule cool”. The concept is straightforward: to have the most joy and fun with the music of everyone’s childhood,” Roxmouth explains.
In 2020, Roxmouth and The Johannesburg Big Band headed into Howard Audio studios to record the Swingle Bells Christmas album and now bring those recordings to the stage, along with special guest artists Timothy Moloi and Monique Steyn, and children’s vocal ensemble from Stageworx School Of Performing Arts. Audiences will be delighted by timeless carols and fresh takes on classics.
The recorded album will be available on all streaming platforms on Fri, Dec 1 and is the first South African album mixed into Dolby Atmos immersive audio. Pre-save the album for download here.
Swingle Bells is produced by Howard Events in association with The CoLab Network. For groups of 10 or more, senior citizens, scholars and students, take advantage of discounted tickets.
