The first week of the month is always a busy one in Joburg, and several places have recurring events to help you celebrate that salary in style. Here are all the events you can add to your calendar to make sure you're starting October right.

From 18:00 – Keyes Art Mile's galleries and restaurants stay open late to bring you Keyes Art Night – enjoy new exhibitions, delicious eats, and live music.
From 18:00 – Become an artist with Wine & Create Social Club at Artwave Studio at 44 Stanley. This Thursday's edition includes a social still-life drawing session.
From 18:00 – Meet Joburg’s freshest creatives at New Faces exhibition, where emerging artists show off bold, experimental, and daring work at Weed Lovers Market on Loveday for First Thursdays.
From 18:00 – Break bread and enjoy Ethiopian food, live music, and curated sounds at Black Man Confidential’s intimate evening at The Resource Gallery in Melville.
From 20:30 – Feel the bass and whine your waist with Dancehall Nice Again at Club A.M. in Newtown.
