The Africa Contemporary Art and Just Art International presents a global touring exhibition by Mexican-born photographer and cinematographer Elisa Iannacone titled The Spiral of Containment Rape's Aftermath at Constitution Hill in Braamfontein.

Elisa Iannacone was sexually assaulted in 2011, and this exhibition aims to share how she overcame the aftermath through art therapy. Through the process, Elisa Iannacone reached out to other people who shared the same experience as her to form part of the project.

Debuted at the Oxo Tower Bargehouse in London UK 2018, the tour continues with a showcase of 25 photographic portraits from several parts of the world, soundscapes, and oral testimonies from other survivors of sexual assault portraying their therapeutic recovery following a rape.

The exhibition will include workshops and a walkabout of the artworks.

The opening event starts at 11:00 at the Isolation Cells of the Number 4 prison.
