In honour of Africa Month, The Bannister hosts this gig by award-winning Angolan world music star Serpião Tomás (aka Toto St). For his first performance in Joburg, Tomas brings his trademark fusion of Afro-jazz, funk, blues, soul and traditional Angolan music styles such as kilapanga and kizomba. Tomás began song-writing at the tender age of eight, and by the age of 14 was already working with major Angolan stars such as Yannick AfroMan. Today he is a major star in his native Angola, where as well as performing he has also composed songs for other well-known musicians including Selda and Sandra Cordeiro.
