Soweto-based indie folk and funk band Urban Village return to Braamfontein's trendiest underground events space, Untitled Basement, to perform a live concert which will be used as part of the band's new music video. Urban Village is made up of four young, self-taught musicians from Soweto, whose exciting alternative music fuses traditional and contemporary rural and urban sounds. Their unique South African sound aims to "awaken cultural and traditional consciousness" is a rich blend of folk music, Zulu rock, Xhosa funk, mbaqanga and maskandi layered with electric and funky acoustic melodies.
