WHAT WE KNOW – Group exhibition at Keyes Art Mile

Saturday Jan 28 - Saturday Feb 25       19-21 Keyes Ave, Rosebank
share
WHAT WE KNOW is the first exhibition in a project organised by the Independent Network for Contemporary Culture & Art (INCCA) exploring generational knowledge and how it changes.

Many of the artists featured are formally trained and their current practice sees them unlearning and pushing these institutional teachings.

By looking at this process of unlearning, or learning the rules in order to break them, INCCA focuses on the personal steps the artists take to create their work and the self-reflection embodied in their practice. With works by painters, printers and photographers on display, the exhibition gives a broad look at forms of knowledge and practices.

The artists on show are: blk banaana, Nina Jacobson, Khanyisile Mawhayi, Selloane Moeti, Vanessa Tembane and Helena Uambembe. Editions from Flood House and Dream Press will be on sale.

WHAT WE KNOW takes place in the annex at Keyes Art Mile. Exhibition opens Sat, Jan 28 at 11:00, RSVP to info@incca.org.za to attend.
