Dael Orlandersmith's 2002 Pulitzer Prize nominated drama follows the love story between a dark skinned African American woman and a light skinned African American man as they try to navigate life, family and identity politics, grappling with issues such as body image and prejudice in the black community. Yellowman is a term used in the African American community to refer to a lighter skinned person.<br /> <br /> This show takes place as part of the Wits Theatre's 969 Festival, a selection of the best theatre, dance and music productions from the 2017 National Arts Festival in Grahamstown (which is 969km from Joburg). <a href="https://www.inyourpocket.com/johannesburg/969-festival_2173e">See the full 969 Festival programme here</a>.
