While their bespoke concrete carbuncle on the Planty undergoes renovations, Bunkier Sztuki - one of Kraków's finest contemporary art institutions - has been bumped up to first-class in this market square palace formerly occupied by the Goethe Institute (too bad for ze Germans). Part of a 'cultural cluster' at this address, most of Bunkier's exhibits will take place in the basements here until their permanent home on ul. Szczepańska reopens, while the ground floor hosts a joint bookstore run by Bunkier and MOCAK. A new interpretation of the Szymborska's Drawer exhibit will also open here, and the building will generally serve as a cultural centre for the city's most important festivals and cultural institutions including exhibitions, film screenings, concerts and other events hosted by KBF (Kraków Festival Office) and the UNESCO City of Literature programme.
