Czerwone Korale

  ul. Mikołajska 14 ,   Old Town          (+48) 12 430 61 08     14 Mar 2024
Located in a charming townhouse near Mały Rynek, Czerwone Korale (ENG: Red Beads) boasts glass-bottle-bottom windows, timber beam ceilings and subtly folk-inflected decor punctuated by wicker-wreath chandeliers wound with bright ribbons and the red beads that give the place its name. Plenty of colour comes from the kitchen as well, which serves all the Polish standards, including plenty of vegetarian options, but with some creative innovations and a flair for presentation. Overall, the quality of the food makes Czerwone Korale not only a pleasant surprise, but also a great value.
A variety of potato pancakes (placki ziemiaczne) at Czerwone Korale.

I fell for the reviews of this restaurant, and was there this evening. It's not a bad place, but the food was underwhelming and is overpriced for what it is. The pierogi were good, but my pork chop was formed from about 20 different animals... The decor is interestingly kitsch, but the place is so brightly lit that there is no atmosphere. Most of the reviews here sound as if they are written by the owners. You can do better...

We have just returned from a fantastic 5 day holiday in Krakow and enjoyed two lovely meals in this restaurant. From the menu we tried Polish dumplings, stuffed cabbage leaves, Polish pork stew on potato pancakes and turkey in a leek sauce - not all on the same night! The food is beautifully presented and tastes amazing. There is an elevated table in the window, which is a great place to sit and watch the world go by while you enjoy your food with a nice cold beer. We will definitely return to this restaurant the next time we are in Krakow!

My wife and I were here on Thursday 7.3.13. Lovely traditional Polish cuisine in a homely setting. I had the dumplings with red cabbage salad and my wife had a breaded pork fillet with buckwheat groats. Very tasty and ample portions. Excellent value.

We were here on Friday, 28.02.2013 r dinner, a group of 10 persons. We had an apricot stuffed pork, duck leg, salmon steak, fillet of pike perch, and beef - stew and riblets. We all really enjoyed it. The waitress, a nice girl, he offered us a welcome Polish bread with butter and lard, it was very nice and very good. How are we going to Krakow to come back here, you can also all my friends. Delicious Polish food! John
