One of the most romantic destinations in Kraków, if you've got a date, blindfold them, put them in a cab and bring them here. Extending out of a magnificent castle perched atop a jag of limestone poking out of Wolski Forest, are two levels of terraces offer outstanding panoramic views of the Wisła River and Tatra Mountains in the distance, from which you can eat, drink and be merry. Formerly a property of Jagiellonian University, the castle interiors are currently be renovated into a 5-star hotel, spa and restaurant. Formerly known as U Ziyada, the new restaurant will be called simply, 'Restauracja Zamek,' and while the official opening takes place in spring of 2022, the terraces of the cafe/bar on the lower level are open for summer of 2021. Meanwhile, the 'Baszta Restauracja' in the former bastion tower adjacent - which also features a lovely terrace - is also up and running with drinks and affordable eats for 2021. The perfect pit-stop after a trip to the Zoo or walk in the woods, even if you're not hungry, it's worth coming here for coffee, ice cream, wine, beer or - most importantly - the view. To get there direct, grab a cab and expect to pay somewhere between 20-35zł, or take bus 134 to the Zoo and it's a lovely 15min walk through the woods on the yellow trail.
