Youth, innocence, culture, routine, normalcy. Captured through the eyes of an outsider travelling to an unknown country, photographs have the power to transport you to a place you might not personally know—but you can still understand. Taken on a vacation to Syria in February 2011, these photographs capture various facets of regular life, routine everyday exchanges, and the global curiosities of childhood—all mere months before the irreparable damage brought on by the <strong>Arab Spring</strong> and the outbreak of the <strong>Syrian Civil War</strong>.
