It may have taken a while, but it now seems that the concept of street food is finally, officially a thing in Ljubljana. Building on the success of regular events such as Odprta Kuhna and the Beer and Burger Festival, a permanent street food market can now be found in the BTC City shopping district, featuring a half dozen stands offering a wide variety of cuisine. For Ljubljana's most popular wraps there's Frks, while Hood Burger can largely be credited with starting the city's burger craze when it first opened back in 2011. Fans of Asian cuisine can line up at the excellent Chuty's for authentic Thai, while vegetarians will have plenty of Indian and Mediterranean-inspired options at Radha Govinda. If you'd prefer to keep it simple, Top Dunaj'c whips up some gourmet Wienerschnitzel and other assorted grilled dishes. And last but not least there's Spanish-style tapas from Španska Vas, which looks very likely to be the next big culinary hit in town. So now you've got yet another reason to hop in a taxi or take bus 27 to BTC City, just make sure to arrive hungry.
