Flixbus

more than a year ago
If you live, or regularly travel, in Europe, you've surely seen the bright green and orange buses of the Flixbus network plying the motorways. It's undeniable that the German company, which essentially takes and manages the bookings of other companies (while assuring some minimal level of service, as well as those green and orange liveries), has truly shaken up the transport industry on the continent, and when they first started operating in Slovenia it was a godsend for those in need of quick, easy and cheap transport to neighbouring countries of even further afield.

However, more recently, we've had nothing but terrible experiences with them, and judging from the average comment on their social media, we're not the only ones. Cancelled and frequently delayed buses, surely (non-English speaking) drivers and Kafkaesque customer service has drained much of the good will they engendered in those early days and put a major dent in their reputation. While Flixbus is still likely your best bet for transport to Budapest, Venice and most of Italy between here and Milan, we advise using their services with caution.
