It took them just two visits to make it hard for us to imagine the traditional Šiška end of the year party without the Dutch trance/blues priestess and priests My Baby. In 2017, they effortlessly sold out our Komuna Hall, last year they got us dancing wildly to finish the year, and this year, they’ll repeat the honour. To make the merry occasion perfect, they’ll be joined by Romanian tongue-in-cheek synth-poppers Karpov not Kasparov, who sound like Daft Punk if they had grown up behind the Iron Curtain.

In the wake of the band’s previous two visits to Šiška, it’s probably needless to repeat that Dutch trio My Baby are a guarantee for an unforgettable evening, feet tired from constant dancing, and festivities long into the night. The first time, they turned the heat up in our Komuna Hall with material that had taken one of the most renowned Dutch bands on tour with American bluesman Seasick Steve and to festivals such as Glastonbury, Ozora, Sziget and Exit, the second time they presented their new album MOUNAIKI – By the Bright of Night in our Katedrala Hall, and both times they left us speechless. The band that weaves tribal rituals and trances into its own energetic, dancefloor take on blues, feels at home in front of the Slovenian audience as well, so the choice of who to headline our end-of-the-year party was a no-brainer.
