For years the banks of the Sava River running along the edge of Ljubljana were a degraded wasteland. Thankfully the seedy sites and illegal dumps have now been replaced with kilometres of maintained paths for walking, cycling and even horse riding. The expansive recreational area is centred mainly around the Črnuče Bridge where there's a large children's playground and mini farm as well as sheltered picnic facilities for rental, whilst paths stretch all the way from Tacen, below Šmarna Gora, to the Sneberje Bridge.
