Italian street artists Sten & Lex, responsible for this dizzying work, have developed an elaborate technique called 'stencil poster,' which involves glueing huge pieces of paper to a wall, cutting out strips with an X-acto knife to make a stencil, and painting over the resulting matrix. This mural, like many other ones of their making, is based on a photograph plucked at random from a family album.
