Every weekend, The Troyeville’s rooftop comes alive with The Hangout at The Troyeville, a diverse line-up of live music, comedy, and community – a true celebration of Joburg’s creative spirit. From the long-awaited return of Christian rock icons Tree63 and the dreamy alt-folk of Aya Nixon, to Afro-soul grooves from The Muffinz, and the multi-genre musical explosion of Bombshelter Beast – there’s something for everyone. Sun, Aug 17: Tree63 & Aya Nixon

The Hangout at The Troyeville turns up the volume with a Sunday double bill that hits all the right notes. Christian rock icons Tree63 make their long-awaited return, bringing their stadium-worthy sound and uplifting anthems to the stage. Sharing the spotlight is rising alt-folk star, Aya NixonBook here.

Sun, Aug 24: Wren Hinds Band & Kayla The Crow

It's a  Cape Town sonic journey at The Hangout at The Troyeville with soul-stirring sets from Wren Hinds, backed by a stellar band. Joining them on the lineup is Kayla The Crow, known for her dreamy, genre-blending sound. Book here.

Sun, Aug 31: The Muffinz & Jean-Claude Myburgh

The Hangout at The Troyeville wraps up the month with a genre-blending Sunday session. The Muffinz bring their signature mix of Afro-soul and SA jazz, while Jean-Claude Myburgh blends pop, hip hop, and blues into a sound that’s both fresh and nostalgic. Book here.

Sun, Sep 14: Bombshelter Beast & Steve Umculo

Bombshelter Beast explodes onto The Troyeville stage with their wild genre-mash of kwaito, ska, rock, house, boeremusiek, and Balkan beats. Opening the show is Steve Umculo, serving up feel-good Afro-folk grooves to get you moving. Book here.

Wed, Sep 24: Lucky Dube Tribute & Jahworx

This Heritage Day, The Hangout at The Troyeville turns up the volume in honour of South African music.  Thami Kiet and Sawubona Music Jam lead a soulful tribute to reggae legend Lucky Dube, joined by Jahworx with their reggae and genre-bending grooves. Book here.

A full bar and food menu from The Troyeville's wonderful restaurant is on offer before and during the shows. Enjoy these performances alongside sweeping views of the Joburg skyline, and remember, it's an outdoor venue, so dress for the weather.

Note: Security personnel are stationed at both The Troyeville's front and back entrances. Safe parking is available on Wilhelmina Street, located at the rear of the hotel. The front entrance is perfect for Uber, Bolt, and taxi drop-offs and collections.
