Trakošćan Castle Gallery
Trakošćan’s new gallery will open its doors this November with a fascinating exhibition on Soldiers of Count Josip Kazimir Drašković, one of 18th-century Croatia’s most intriguing figures. A general and widely respected man of war, Drašković’s exploits in the Seven Years’ War were soon overshadowed by a marriage that lost him the favour of the court. In an attempt to win back his status, Drašković spent a fortune amassing an army of his own, and this exhibition tells the story of those soldiers. History is never dull, we can assure you. The exhibition is open from November 22 to March 31, 2026. Open Fri, Sat and Sun 09:00-16:00. Admission free.
