ZIYP: Where is your favorite place to drink coffee or go out at night?
Maja: Dežmanov prolaz has a few excellent cafes which are a bit removed from the city crowds.

ZIYP: Where is your favorite place to relax in Zagreb?
Maja: Saturday afternoons or Sundays are a perfect time to visit Zrinjevac. And for a more active break there’s Bundek, Jarun or Medvednica.

ZIYP: What is the best way to discover the city? Which activities do you recommend?
Maja: Driving around in antique cars and variously themed touristic tours in the Upper Town.

ZIYP: Where is the most ideal place to shop? What do you recommend as a souvenir from Zagreb?
Maja: As one of the oldest jewellery stores in Zagreb from way back in 1925, we recognized the demand for souvenirs from Zagreb and the surrounding area. Inspired licitars and wooden toys, we’ve also designed and produced 50 unique motifs of handmade jewelry for which we were awarded 1st prize at the 13th Triennial of Zagorje souvenirs. The licitar heart, umbrellas from Šestina, and many other well-known motifs made of silver and gold and hand painted in colourful enamel. We are most pleased when our many clients tell us that our jewelry is a discreet and unique reminder of the city of Zagreb. You can come and verify for yourself if you visit one of our two stores in Zagreb, at 37 Ilica and 69 Ilica.

ZIYP: Which of the local specialties do you recommend as a ‘must-try’ for visitors?
Maja: I recommend you visit the restaurant called ‘Stari Fijaker’. They offer local dishes (štrukli, Zagorska soup, tripe...) and always listen to their recommendations.
