At the Butchers Table it's all about the meat, be it beef, Black Iberian pork or veal. Choose your meat at the display counter, but don't be afraid to ask for a private consultation from the butcher himself. He convinced us to pick the so-called 'second cuts' of beef, which are essentially less common pieces (at least around here), instead of the more popular tenderloins and fillets. We have to admit that the outside skirt and the hanging tender we chose were quite flavourful and surprisingly tender. The pieces you choose are grilled and then brought to your table on a wooden cutting board to share (pay by weight). The Butchers Choice Deal includes a bowl of salad, a side of fries and even some cooked marrow as a tasty starter. The bone shot (after the marrow is removed, the waiter pours some vodka through a bone directly into your mouth) is more like a test of your gag reflex than anything else, but it certainly spiced up our evening. All in all, this is a stylish new option for carnivores like us.
