This annual celebration of folk art and crafts has been taking place on Kraków's market square since the 1970s. Over the course of three weeks, visitors have the opportunity to wander amongst dozens of wooden stalls laden with handicrafts by masters of vanishing art techniques, including traditional pottery, paper cutouts, jewellery, basketry, embroidery, lacemaking, woodcarving and more. Concerts and dance performances by renowned folk groups from Slovakia, Hungary, Ukraine, Czechia, Estonia, Bulgaria, Lithuania and Latvia take place daily on the cultural stage, and a worskhop zone gives attendees the opportunity to participate in open classes on handicrafts and crafts, learning traditional techniques from experienced artists. Stop by to admire the diversity of colourful folk traditions on display, and pick up some unique souvenirs.
