Kolanko No. 6

  ul. Józefa 17 ,   Kazimierz          (+48) 604 18 75 11     27 Mar 2024

One of Kazimierz's most surprising venues, Kolanko has much to offer. The main attractions have to be the large garden - with plenty of summertime shade and even heated in winter, and the occasional concerts that take place in the large back room (check their FB page). Though known for their sweet and savoury crepes, the very cheap and totally eclectic menu includes everything from chicken satay and Thai curry, to Ethiopian lentils and Greek mousaka, plus cocktails, wine, hot mulled drinks and local craft beer. Believe it or not, they even have their own goat farm nearby, from which they source many of their dairy products and veggies. Their popular 38zł breakfast buffet (served until 12:00) also offers tourists the quintessential Kazimierz atmosphere that most hotel restaurants can't provide. Quirky attic knickknacks combined with klezmer and Balkan music selections give Kolanko 6 an escapist atmosphere well-appreciated by couples, laptoppers and loners like ourselves. Recommended.

An awesome place to have their breakfast buffet - for 20 PLN there is a choice of eggs and bacon and sausage as well as numerous cold salads, lunch meats and cheeses, vegetables, cereals, and desserts. And coffee and tea are included in the price which is a rarity in Poland! The atmosphere is cozy and unique and in the summer the outside is a great place to relax while enjoying your breakfast. Highly recommended!

What a lovely place, I called in for a late breakfast this morning (Saturday) and had a blue cheese salad which was fantastic. The waitress spoke English and was helpful, I shall be going back this afternoon for a crepe and some of the beer mentioned above.
